Hi we are looking for a young dog or puppy to add to our family. Unfortunatly we cannot afford to pay a $100 adoption fee as we have that money put aside for food, vet bills etc. If anybody has a puppy or young dog looking for a great home please email me at scampbell1982@hotmail.com I understand that people charge adoption fees to weed out the freaks and "mad scientists" but you would be welcome to come to our home and check it out.

Actually, we ask an adoption fee to help recover the costs of vets bills, i.e. immunization, spay/neuter. If a rescue group does not bother with these basic health issues, they are nothing more than a used pet store. The "freaks and mad scientists" would hopefully be weeded out through an appropriate application/screening process which would include a questionairre, home visit and vet references, and someone not willing to pay a $100 adoption fee would likely be declined as they obviously have money, budgeting or prioritization troubles that might prevent them from seeking appropriate veterinary or training assistance when necessary, and would be more likely to dump a dog at a shelter if there was such a problem. Have you researched the breeds of dogs you might consider? Herding breeds need loads of training and exercise, will want to control movement and may chase and nip kids. Terriers have a high prey drive and may chase and kill cats and other small animals and may be intolerant of kids. Hounds tend to follow their noses and bark excessively. Guardian breeds (livestock or protection) may be excessively territorial. Dogs that are a combination of breeds may have all these traits or very few. Make sure you are looking at all the aspects of pet dog ownership, not just the price!

Talk about harsh words....in my opinion she probably would have made a wonderful pet owner for all you know. Because she doesnt want to fork out the adoption fee you have the nerve to judge her financial capabilities....wow...now I know why all these dogs/puppies get euthanized so often. Which I might add is a shame. Especially when there are people out there that want to adopt. I thought the puppy mills were the "bad guys" and the rescue groups the good? HMMMM....it makes me wonder now who is really making all the money. Would you rather see a dog dead because a family doesnt fit into your profile. What do you think she is going to do kill the dog for crying out loud. I've been doing alot of research on rescue groups and in my personal opinion, I feel that rescue groups and adoption agencies charge way to much money anyhow. I seen dogs being adopted with nothing wrong with them for $600.00 if not more. Why is that? Vet bills? Oh come on we were not all born yesterday or just fell of the turnip truck! Especially when there are sponsor angels paying the vet and medical bills for you. So lets judge you, and say your the bad one here and not her. I'm sure if she has kids and a husband and a huge back yard she must be doing something right. So you can keep on scamming the public into beleiving its for the animals vet bills etc...but I know the truth...you take the animals when no one wants them and resell them back and make up a really realistic bio and thats how I look at it. So isnt that just as bad as the puppy mills? anyhow I dont want to waste my time on people like you. Instead of being rude to her,you should have been more sympathetic and educated her on the different breeds of dogs and Im sure there is a dog or puppy out there that is good for her family and that she can get for free. Isnt that what adoption is about? Or rescue groups? "SAVING AN ANIMALS LIFE"?
